Facebook Favorites: Adoption Pages We Love
When you surf on your smartphone, tablet, or computer, do you feel like you are bombarded with information? In this age of social media and mobility, there is definitely no lack of content. It’s finding the factual, reliable content that’s the tricky part. For example, so much information is available online about adoption and unfortunately, not all of it is trustworthy. We’ve selected a few organizations’ Facebook pages and websites that we think do a pretty good job of educating, inspiring, and spreading adoption love, in general. Here are some of our favorites:
BraveLove’s goal is to show how adoption is an amazing act of love and courage. Their mission is to change the perception of adoption through honest, informative, and hopeful communication that conveys the heroism and bravery a birth mother displays when she places her child with a loving family through adoption.

(2) Adoptive Families Magazine
Adoptive Families, the award-winning national adoption magazine, is the leading adoption information source for families before, during, and after adoption. The magazine’s website provides up-to-date information on adoption news, ways you can advocate for adoption and personal stories from individuals who’ve been touched by adoption.

(3) Adoption: Share the Love
An incredibly beautiful story of adoption love! A birth mother started this Facebook page and blogs regularly about her experiences as a birth mom, hosts meet-up groups for birth moms in her area and wants to educate all on the adoption process. She asks everyone to share the love, and share their stories. She says “I am a Birth Mother who loves adoption so much! I hope to show the joy of adoption by sharing stories and experiences.”
(4) Blessings in a Basket (BIB)
BIB, founded in 2010 by birth mom, Ashley Mitchell, is a nonprofit set up to create a community of birth moms, or “Big Tough Girls”, nationwide. Their mission is making sure birth moms are honored, respected and supported. BIB provides placement baskets, facilitates monthly support groups and birth mom retreats, engages in Skype and online discussion groups, offers birth mom resources, hosts the Big Tough Girl 5K and free adoption walks across the country, and has a team of life coaches.
